Why I Strongly Recommend Pau D’Arco for Endometriosis

Initially, I was only interested in Pau D’Arco for the treatment of candida but more recently I discovered that Pau D’Arco has many other beneficial elements which can help reduce the effects of Endometriosis. It’s a sweet tasting tea which you can easily combine with some of my other favorites like yarrow or chamomile.

What is it?

Pau D’Arco is an extract from the inner bark of the Tabebuia tree, which grows in Central and South America. It contains a key ingredient called napthoquinones which is the one we are particularly interested in when it comes to Endometriosis.

What can it do?

Pau D’Arco does the following:

  • It is an anti-viral: fights off viral infections in the body
  • Anti-bacterial: fights off bacterial infection in the body
  • Hormone Modulating: will regulate hormones
  • Is a liver detoxifier
  • Blood purifier
  • Will kill off candida albicans

How does this relate to Endometriosis?

So by now we probably know that Endometriosis is an inflammatory condition. We feel it with our monthly; our belly swells up and we feel all bloated. This is an inflammatory response by the body! Ouch, right?

The reason our bodies do this is because it wants to heal the area. Ever noticed when you hurt yourself, like a cut on your finger that then becomes all swollen and red? This is exactly what is happening inside of our bodies, where every cyst is formed inside. The body will try and flush out that cyst and therefore sends blood and other agents down there to try and heal it.

When we add an anti-bacterial and anti-viral into the body, we can help the body to fight those infections. It is kinda like sending in an extra bit of army power to help the body!

Pau D’Arco also purifies the blood. If your monthly is full of clots and dark blood, then this in an indication that your blood down there needs to be cleaned. There are a couple of ways to reduce this effect, one is by incorporating a blood purifier like Pau D’Arco and the other is to stimulate blood flow to the area. Yoga and Mayan Massage can really help with that.

It is a liver detoxifier. The liver is the key organ we should focus on when it comes to Endometriosis. When there are excess hormones and toxins in the body, then Endometriosis will most certainly get worse. Pau D’Arco can help detoxify the liver, along with Schisandra berry and milk thistle.

Candida is closely linked with Endometriosis. It is a yeast overgrowth condition and can become systemic in the body. If you have ever had thrush or digestive irregularities, chances are you have had some kind of candida overgrowth. You can read more about Candida here. Luckily, Pau D’Arco also overcomes this one!

How often do you need to take it for it to be effective?

You need to drink a concentrated version of a tea—let it simmer on low heat for around 30 minutes 3–4 times a day. It would need to be drunk for at least 3 months to a year.

Contra indications?

It is definitely not recommended if you are pregnant or suspect you might be pregnant, or if you are taking any Asprin or any blood thinning medication.  Also be careful with herbs that might have this action.

In one month my endo got 70% better from pau d’arco. I just spent a month drinking it, on an almost daily basis. I use a handful of rough cut tea with about a gallon of water in a large pot to make a concentrate. Once cool, I then put it in the fridge and it lasts up to a week. Daily I use a quart mason jar and fill it about half way with pau d’arco tea and half with water and drink it throughout thr day.

I have also been putting the concentrate into ice cube trays, then using the cubes in whatever I’m drinking.

My endo can be really unbearable and not much has worked. I can’t say for certain it’s this tea that has made such a drastic change, but I do have reason to believe it is. [My partner’s psoriasis went away quickly after beginning to drink pau d’arco daily… 90% in 2 months].
What I can say for certain is I will keep drinking it and report back.
    Peace~

I wonder if I got the right stuff. My Pau D’arco tastes quite bitter and astringent. I don’t detect any sweetness…

I started recently with Pau D’Arco, in German it’s called “Lapacho”, and just wanted to say that I really like this tea. It tastes kind of sweet and a bit spicy. Delicious!
