Over the last few months, I have simply not felt up to creating anything for Endo Empowered. I had this strange kinda numbness, mixed with feelings of overwhelm and on a deeper level, I just couldn’t bear the idea of being criticised for my thoughts or even my hair!
There has been quite a few emails of women writing in and sharing their journeys with losing a parent and I truly value your support and knowing that I am more than just someone who shares insights about endometriosis but also someone who experiences set backs and life challenges.
In this video, I wanted to share my thoughts on what has made me retreat a little bit from the work I was putting out there on Endo Empowered and why I just stopped creating.
I know that we all need space and time to go through emotional things in our life and I think knowing that you would still be here for me, really gave me the space to do that.
So, thank you…

Its Sonja here, your Mom was a special friend of mine and very dear to my heart. I do understand that you miss her terribly, I do too.
Please don’t ever stop sharing your journey, your Mom was so proud of your journey and the knowledge you shared with her and with the world. Please don’t ever stop making your Mom proud.
Greetings and hugs from South Africa..
<3 Such a powerful message.
Wow! April that is an incredibly powerful message and thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me. I feel so honoured to have you in my life and for your amazing support over the years. Thank you so much 🙂
My dear Melissa, I am so proud of you for listening to your truth. Your body and your mind told you that you needed to take time for yourself to reflect, to heal, and to ultimately grow. There is no shortage of people (especially behind the comfort of a virtual wall) who are so uncomfortable with themselves that they will latch onto, and continually take from, compassionate people. Their internal struggles are not for you to solve, especially at the expense of your own well being. Abuse is simply unacceptable, no matter how compassionate we are. You answered the call to yourself, and your act of self love is nothing short of admirable for those of us who truly understand what it is to love ourselves. And we will continue to support your self love, no matter where that leads you.
Bless you <3
Thank you Star and yes, I do need to remember that it isn’t personal and that other women need me and the work I share. I will 🙂 and thank you.
Thank you Tonya and so happy I could be there for you during “the change” . Thank you also for your support in my book.
I do feel truly blessed to live here and it is particularly lovely this time of year. Wow! What a contrast to your weather 😉
Yes, I can see how that could be true of social media for sure 🙂
Thank you sweetheart and I am so honoured that I got to be part of your journey and your sweet boy.
I need to keep reminding myself about that for sure – they don’t actually know me. I am just a persona that represents something they may be afraid of. Thank you for your fabulous insights and loving support. Biggest hugs,
Melissa! Thank you for your lovely email! I haven’t been on your website in a while as I was busy being pregnant and now have had my dear sweet boy – so much credit can go to you for wonderful coaching you provided – my health and wellness improved so much and my Endo symptoms almost completely went. It sounds like you have been through a lot and I would have retreated also if it were me. If you don’t look after yourself you can’t help others. I’m sorry to hear about your Mum, but happy to see (and hear) that you live in a new wonderful space! Moving is horrid – I have to do it every two years but to places not of my choosing so very jealous! Don’t listen to others – they don’t know what an amazing person you are and how you help others authentically and lovingly. Good luck and look forward to seeing the new changes.
Hugs Lizzie xx
Thank you Melissa! I’m so sorry for the loss of your mum and I’m glad you took the time you needed for yourself. I’ve been following your work since almost the start – so many years now that I actually went thru “the change” and thank heavens I don’t need Endo relief any longer… However, when I did you and your website were there for me and I thank you for that! I’m glad you are putting all the knowledge and advice into a book! That’s a great legacy for others to get the healing tips you offer.
Your home and the nature surrounding look amazing and beautiful! We have a big snowstorm arriving where I live today— very different than your current temps!
And in case you haven’t heard – study results show that the more time one spends on social media, the more isolated and lonely they feel… spending less time on FB and all social media is a choice I made for myself a few years ago and it was good for me!
Take care! Xo tonya
Melissa you are doing great work! There’s always going to be people who want to make you feel inferior but you can do it. Hold on to the memories of your mom. Love your new place. Looks amazing. 🙂
