nuggets of wisdom on reducing PAIN & SYmPTOMS naturally

without the risk of surgery or nasty hormone treatments

Full Review of Serrapeptase Including Dosage Recommendations!

Over the years I have experimented with many, many supplements and each one promised to be the “miracle pill” for Endometriosis. There were the ones which helped regulate my hormones, ones for overall stamina and specific herbs for women. Whatever was presented to be, I certainly explored it and to be honest, my cupboard is still stocked full of supplements!

Supplements for Endometriosis is one of the biggest topics I get asked about on a daily basis and though I often stress that supplements are not the full answer to natural healing, there is one supplement which I do recommend to all women with Endometriosis: serrapeptase. This is truly a miracle supplement and does amazing things for women with Endometriosis.

What is Serrapeptase?

Serrapeptase is a naturally occurring proteolytic enzyme, isolated from the silkworm.

This proteolytic enzyme is able to digest certain types of protein by attacking only dead tissues. This would include adhesions, dead cysts and scarring.

Studies suggest that this enzyme in the body produces anti-inflammatory mediators that reduce swelling, redness, and pain.

Why use serrapeptase for Endometriosis?

Endometriosis has some key symptoms including scarring, cysts, inflammation, pain and adhesions. Serrapeptase is effective at breaking down these unwanted tissues cells and allowing our bodies to function more normally. Serrapeptase also reduces inflammation and pain by blocking pain-inducing amines.

How much Serrapeptase do I need?

When we first start using serrapeptase it is possible that our bodies might express some die-off reactions. These may include flu-like symptoms, headaches etc. To avoid those, I recommend starting on a low dose (half of what it says on the bottle) and gradually increasing it to the recommended dose. I would stay on that dose for about 3 months. After the 3 months, you could revert back to a lower dose as a maintenance dose. It is important to stay on serrapeptase for at least 6 months to get results. Buy in bulk here.

My personal experience with serrapeptase

I have done a few posts on serrapeptase and in the video link below I also share my personal experiences with it. This is truly a miracle supplement for Endometriosis! I noticed immediate results and benefits from using it and highly recommend it. One of the key things I noticed for myself was more movement in my abdominal cavity.

I believe my abdomen experienced quite a bit of scarring after the 7 operations. Serrapeptase has allowed me to loosen those adhesions without requiring anymore surgery. That in combination with doing daily yoga has been fantastic!

The brand I recommend

Over the years I have explored a range of different brands and companies and unfortunately some are better than others. The one I have found which provides the best value for you and also has a quality product is through Good Health Naturally. You can find the link to purchase Serrapeptase here.

There are not many companies or supplements I recommend for every woman with Endometriosis but this is definitely one of them.

Hi Andrea, Did you find a high quality brand, thanks anne

  4. Andrea

I’m wondering if you have any updates on brands of serrapeptase you recommend. I’ve been taking SerraEnzyme for a few years and lately the quality has gone way down. They’ve lately been sending me capsules that look, smell and taste differently than they have in the past – and when I take them, they make me feel sick. I’m looking for a high quality company that I don’t have to worry if they sent me stuff that has gone off or not.

Hi I have stage 4 endo cysts and adenomyosis. I have been taking seraenzyme 80 000 and finished 3 bottles now will be starting the 250 000 one. Any advice? Thanks.

  8. Melissa

I would need to know what sort of bleeding you are experiencing sweetheart.

  9. Melissa

I would need to know what sort of bleeding it is and if it is dark or light in colour. Dark blood indicates old blood, which would be a good thing as it is clearing out old matter in your body.

Hie Susan, I’ve been scrounging the internet for answers as well i’ve been taking serra for 6 days now and started feeling pain in my blocked right tube and light bleeding thereafter. I am not on any meds and i’d like some answers as well

Hi Melissa! I found this page while doing some research on Serrapeptase for endometriosis and scar tissue. I recently started working in a holistic store after being off work for years from pain and dysfunction, and my boss highly recommended Serrapeptase. Like you, I have also had 7 surgeries, and have tried so many supplements, diets and supposed miracle protocols I could laugh or cry thinking about it! So I’m hesitant on trying anything else. Your practical advice on it is very helpful. Thanks for the info and sharing your experience!
I’ll update if I have success with it.
    Take care,

I’ve started taking serrapeptese for endometrial wall which is 13mm. Biopsy shows no cancer. Bleeding had stopped but when I take serrapeptese I bleed lightly. Is this normal?

  13. Sarah

Hi, could you explain a little more about the pill and Serrepeptase in combination? Do both lower blood pressure? Is that why in combination they are a bad idea?
    Thanks

Thanks i am in pain most times. I can’t cooe anymore with this severe endometriosis

  15. Jody

Hi Melissa. I am 50 y/o and have had ovarian cysts since age 12 with multiple removal surgeries due to size and type. Last year I had 2 endo surgeries 1 year apart. First one endo connected my uterus to abdm wall, rectum, bowels. 2nd surgery took my right ovary. Endo pain started again 1 month after surgery. I eat healthy which helps a little. I continue to have very painful phantom periods. I read your site and started serrapeptase with brand u suggested. Within 2 weeks abdm pain/cramping severe. Breasts felt like I was going to burst as though I was nursing. I do have fibrocystic breasts. I stopped med for 1 week, felt better then restarted again 1 week later. Within 3 days abdm cramping started again. I didn’t have any of the die off symptoms that you stated. Are my symptoms normal? Any suggestions? After reading about serrapeptase and people with such great endo relief results I was hoping this would help. I won’t have another surgery unless I develop serious health issues

  16. Anonymous

No I didn’t have any symptoms

  17. ronks

    hi
please what brand of serrapeptase did you use.

  18. Melissa

    Hi Anne,

It could be dangerous with Serrapeptase and Microgynon as it can affect blood pressure. If you don’t have any issues with your heart, then it should be fine.
There are other more natural ways to prevent pregnancy though hun, which won’t harm your health. Any pill will interfere with your liver health, which directly affects your ability to balance and heal with endometriosis.

  19. Anne Tran

    Hello Melissa,

I have just recently bought Serrapeptase (Serratia) 250,000 SPUs from Return2Health today. I am also starting to take Microgynon 30ED and was wondering if it is okay to take both Serrapeptase and Microgynon ongoing (at different times of the day)?

I have been diagnosed with endometriosis, adhesions of the uterus to the bowel wall and ovaries, and an endometrial polyp in the uterus, all have been happening for a year now.

I accidentally came across to know about Serrapetase online when I searched for anything that helps me reducing the adhesions and scar correction (for my endometriosis) hence I ordered one bottle (60 capsules) from Return2Health and got it today. Therefore before I start taking a higher dose per day I was hoping you could help by letting me know it won’t interfere/or reduce the effectiveness of the Microgynon 30ED that I am also taking daily.

PS: The main purpose for me to take Mincrogynon is to stop the monthly bleeding as I don’t want more children since am already having 2 (10 & 13 years old).

I look forward to hear back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you grateful for your help in advance, Melissa.

    Regards
    Anne

If you have a herbalist in your area I highly recommend trying that out. Find a place where they have a Dr on sight so you can tell them your condition, symptoms, and results your trying to achieve so they can put a list of herbs together specifically for your needs.

I also recommend YouTube Pilates for Endo. It’s some great videos to help loosen everything up.

Also change of diet eat non GMO, organic, and grass fed as much as possible. Try to eliminate or at least limit foods that cause inflammation. Make fruit and vegetable smoothies and get caster oil.

    Wish you the best!!

  24. Vandana

    Hi melissa,
This is vandana from india. I have been suffering from endometriosis since long.My age is 29 since 6 months we are trying to conceive.I removed my 8 cm simple cyst by laproscopy 1 week before ..but during lap procedure dr.observed that at left side I have severe adhesion…like my intestine ,uterus, fallopian tubes are stick with each other due to adhesion.because of this my one tube is tilted.
Now my gynaec is suggesting me to go for ivf since I have risk of ectopic pregnancy.me and my partner is not ready for ivf so far and checking for other option.

Hi can I use serrapeptase and wobenzyme whilst I am ovulating?

  26. mary buchanan

I thought Enteric has the phthalates?!

  27. Teresa

You say to stay on it for at least 6 months for results. This isn’t something you stay on for always right? Eventually a person will come off of it? What are your thoughts on this?

  28. Flori

Please is safe to take doctor’s best high potency serrapeptase 120,000 SPU during menstruation? I had ectopic pregnancy and lost my left tube now my doctor said I have a block fallopian tube on the only one left. Please your advice will be highly appreciated.Thank you Flori.

  29. Melissa

    Yes 🙂 Pleasure sweetheart.

  30. Nadine

    Hello Melissa,
I thank you for creating this site. I had 2 ectopic pregnancies and I am ttc. Is it safe to take the Serrapeptase during ovulation?

  31. Cristina

Hi Melissa! Thanks for your post on serrapeptase!! I have stage Iv ends and been on nuvaring for 10 yrs (but on pill for almost 13 yrs). Two months ago my husband and I decided to ttc but since coming off the pill I had irregular bleeding (after the first bc withdrawal, in october I had two ‘periods’) and terrible cramps all the time so I really hope serrapeptase will help me get rid of scar tissues and adhesions..I am now on 2x serrapeptase morning and evening (this is my first week) and probably stick with this dosage for a week more and then add also 2x in the afternoon..any advice?? Best wishes and thanks for your help!

  32. Char

I just started taking Serrapeptase and Vitex. I’m not sure if they can be taken together but I’m going low dose on both of them to see how I feel. I’ve been diagnosed with hydrosalpinx on my right fallopian tube from previous ovarian cyst the size of a soft ball that ruptured 3 years ago, 2 fibroids and endo tissue on both ovaries. My gyno prescribed birth control pills to keep my ovaries from growing but I refused to take them. I’m praying serrapeptase will help but I’m scared that there’s a chance that it wont. Anyone had this problem and saw amazing results???

  33. Maha bakeer

Hey joy , ive had similar symptoms when ive started taking serraenzyme 250000 for the first time , ive only took one pill and couldn’t take it anymore because of the symptoms so ive stopped for one week and then started with blockbuster all clear 80000 one pill a day , after half an hour of taking the pill i had diahhera but the next day i had no symptoms what so ever, ive took the blockbuster for one month then decided to try and take the serraenzyme again and when i retook it i had no symptoms, so i suggest start with a low dose , let ur body accept it then increase it gradually

  34. Maha bakeer

Hey Rachel , im glad that ur feeling great , i also have endo cysts and also arthritis, what is the dose that u use ?? Im taking serraenzyme 250000 one pill a day for two months now , ive started with blockbuster all clear 80000 one pill a day , so ive stopped it and started the sereaenzyme instead

  35. Mara

Does serrapeptase cause pain the first few days of taking it?

  36. Rachelle

I have discovered serrapeptase and have stage IV endometriosis, blocked tubes and was so bad during my last lap they pretty much didn’t do anything because it was so bad…. I am TTC and after failed IVF decided to try and unblock tubes naturally since they couldn’t/wouldn’t. All I can say is LIFE CHANGING and I totally recommend to anyone with endo to go on it – IMMEDIATELY!!!
I’ve been on it almost 3mths and I feel amazing. I noticed a significant improvement in 24hrs!!!! I’ve had the best two periods of my entire life whilst on it and have felt a lot of movement in my ovaries/tubes area and I know its doing something. It is safe during pregnancy and known for helping with breast tenderness during breastfeeding, it is also great for arthritis and other issues. I haven’t tried any other brand than the one you also here recommend and I take the 250,000iu’s strength. Most testimonials I read women were clearing their blocked tubes in about 2.5-4mths from starting the serrapeptase and were confirming this with either a HSG or were pregnant. I just wanted to add to this thread because I want every woman suffering with endo to know about it – AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!!

  37. Joy Fischer

I’ve been taking serrapeptase for a couple months now. I take 40,000-80,000 per day, an average of about 4 days a week. You mentioned that a side effect could be flu like symptoms. Today is the 2nd day I’ve had stomach flu symptoms in the last month. I’m really nauseous, same as last month. Is it possible it could be the pills? I just can’t figure out what else could be causing this. I don’t usually get sick like this and now’s happened twice in a month. I have endo and my period has been much better since starting the pills. Thanks Melissa.

  38. Roisin

Hey I just had surgery for my endometriosis. I’ve started taking seropeptase my question is how much do I take my pills are 250,000ui I’ve been taking only one a day but maybe I should take more.

  39. Alli

When you click the link under “supplement facts” it says 1 capsule is a serving and it’s the delayed release capsule. I read below you said enteric was better? You said you recommend 3 capsules daily , but increasing to that in about a month’s time, correct? How many times a day is this taken? I’m at a total loss of what to do at this point… I just had a cantaloupe endometrioma removed along with my left ovary and tube. My right has a golf ball sized endometrioma and I need to get it under control fast!! I do NOT want to lose both ovaries 🙁 I’ve also had stage 4 endometriosis for about 12 years now, which has now spread to the outside of my uterus and bladder. Would you recommend acupuncture? They are recommending I go for at least 12 weeks, but it’s pretty expensive. Any thoughts? Thank you so much!!

    Dear Melissa :
Thank you very much for all the information you have listed in your site.
Ive been diagnosed with endometriosis two years ago , I’ve had surgery to take off a chocolate cysts 8 cm from my right I vary and some fibers in the uturs. after the surgery my doctor gave me a hormonal therapy one pill every day for six months , I’ve been cysts free since recently 🙁 I’ve discovered four chocolate cysts two in each ovary ! I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis since I was 8. I am 32 now and taking one cortison pill daily. I’ve been on this treatment for 11 years now .
My doctor wants to put me back on hormonal pills for two years straight!!! I’ve heard so many horror stories about these pills so i really do not want to go through this again!!
I’ve searched the net and found ur site .
I want to start using serrapeptase pills ASAP
But I dont know based on my case how much should i be taking and for how long?? My doctor said i should start taking the hormonal pill inmediately because the four chocolate cysts I have now each are 1 cm. and he said they will increase each month if i dont start the mediciation now. can I take serrapeptase while taking cortisone pills ??
    Thank u very much
    Desperate Maya.

  41. Melissa

Hugs Amanda. You can try either Wobenzyme or Vitalzyme or just Serrapeptase. The other two contain combinations of Serrapeptase with other herbs. You can definitely still take them during ovulation. Just stop as soon as you notice you are pregnant. There is no danger to pregnancy according to the website but just to be safe 🙂

  42. Amanda

Hi Melissa- thanks so much for putting this info out there! I am so so grateful for not just your wisdom, but your sympathy and kindness with others experiencing the emotional, mental, and physical pains of endo.

Before I found this article, however, I read about Wobenzyme N being helpful for similar reasons- is it as strong or effective as Serrapeptase? Also, since I am TTC (for 2 years ?), should I avoid taking either one of these during ovulation?

I know this is an older post, but I really hope to hear your thoughts! ❤️

Doctors best is pritty good too. I did find my recommended one to be quite good value 🙂

  45. Michelle

I been taking serrapeptase for about a month. I take doctors best. Is the brand you recommend better.

  46. Melissa

You can do, probably in a couple more weeks 🙂

  47. Flavia

    Hi Melissa
I’ve been taking serrapeptase 80,000iu for about a week, one tablet a day. Will I need to increase this? Or is this enough?
    Thanks xx

  48. Melissa

I am not totally sure about NAC personally but know women who have had great success. You can certainly take them together. They work on different areas in the body Mindy 🙂

  49. Melissa

    Enteric is usually better 🙂

  50. Melissa

    Hi Dee,
Start slow with only 1, twice per day and build up from there. I would increase about every 2 weeks.

  51. Dee

The brand that you recommend (80,000 IU) says to take “1-3 capsules up to 3 times per day on an empty stomach….” So is your recommendation that I start with one capsule 3 times per day? It sounds like its possible to take up to 9 capsules per day, which seems a bit much to me.

  52. mindy

Hi, I’m a new reader and am fully enjoying the sight and its wealth of information. Do you recommend taking NAC and serapeptase together? Or rather, is OK to? I have just learned about the benefits of these separately.

  53. Ma

    Hello Melissa,

Which version of Serrapeptase is better ? The enteric coating form or the Delayed Release Bioactive Enzymes Capsules

    Thanks

  54. Dana

Is it safe with breastfeeding (infant-wise)?
    How about Nattokinase?

    Thanks!
