nuggets of wisdom on reducing PAIN & SYmPTOMS naturally

without the risk of surgery or nasty hormone treatments

Changing the way women with endo are treated…

I recently watched a documentary called The Bleeding Edge on Netflix. It quite honestly made me sick to the stomach. For those of you who haven’t seen it or don’t have access to it, the documentary explores the medical device industry and what shocked me the most was the use of Essure and Mesh used inside women. These women had no idea about the impacts these devices could have inside their bodies and are now living with pain and suffering for the rest of their lives.

This was not something they got diagnosed with or could control but something placed inside their bodies!

Here is the trailer from YouTube:

Though I hate that so many women had to suffer to get the message out there… it resulted in a significant change for future women considering the use of Essene and hopefully also mesh. The Bleeding Edge documentary got created and a shift started happening. In the end Bayer announced they are taking Essene off the market! Read an article here.

This proves the power of women and how we can create change for the better, when we stand together.

The change I seek for women with Endo

I can imagine in some distant future that women will look back on our current time and the way endometriosis is treated and be horrified. Pumping women full of hormones, pain-killers and then, when that all fails to have our vital female organs removed! I just don’t consider these as “treatments”. They are bandage solutions, attempts at regulating endometriosis (at best) and don’t actually address the triggers and reasons for the endometriosis developing in the first place. I personally view this as lazy, inadequate and downright wrong. We can do better and I know we deserve better.

I believe there are many elements about endometriosis that are not being looked at or researched enough. Women are misled into believing that endometriosis is merely a hormone balance issue or that they should just live with the pain. Promises of “perfect surgery” that “cures” endometriosis are plastered across the internet and women are forking out thousands of dollars in an attempt to remove their endometriosis many believing that this will result in a permanent fix. Unfortunately, I know these “treatments” don’t always work because after all of the various types of surgery, hormone treatments and endless pain popping, women eventually find me and reach out to me in a hope that I can help. These stories are incredibly sad and they fill me with the same frustration I felt when watching the documentary.

What I wish more than anything is that women with endometriosis are given the option to explore my REACH Technique© before these drastic and often irreparable methods are used. That we explore what the body can do with the right guidance and support and tailor specific methods designed to address the deeper symptoms of endometriosis.

Whatever happened to “first do no harm”? Why don’t we explore natural approaches first and discover what the body is capable of before we resort to adding in synthetic drugs and chopping out bits of our bodies?

I believe that if we join together as women and seek to share what we have learned about endometriosis together, we can create our own movement of change for women with endometriosis around the world. I know this is possible because I have already witnessed a shift in so many women’s lives. Women who believed they would never fall pregnant, women who believed they would live in pain forever and women who had given up all chances of a normal life. These women also write to me and share their incredible stories and their incredible life experiences because they discovered how to treat their body, provide for their body and trust that they could get better.

Are you with me?

What change do you seek for women with endometriosis? Does what I share resonate with you? Do you agree that our current treatment methods are less than acceptable?

In the upcoming weeks, I am going to be creating a new space for women of the Endo Empowered community. It will be invite-only and only for those of us who want to be part of this revolution of change for women with endo. Leave a comment below if you resonate and if you would love to part of our new community…

I would love to be part of the community! I stumbled upon your website over a year ago when I was looking for a solution besides birth control and surgery. The message you’re spreading changed the way I view my condition and changed my life. I can’t thank you enough for what you’re doing.

  43. Helena Gifford

I would love to be a part of the community. Im 47 and have Endo and now also adenomyosis would be nice to see a lot more support in this area

  44. Liz

One thing that disappoints me from the documentary is that the women’s voices were not enough. Through all the work that they did, and all the data they collected, and all the pain they went through, the best they got was that doctors would be required to warn women of potential side effects. It was the DOCUMENTARY that got Essure taken of the market. Yes, the women did all the legwork, but it was the public shaming of this now being seen at such a big level. I am thankful that this respected fimmaking team got this topic into their hands. But it makes me sick that thousands of women’s voices before that meant so little. And that our experiences in the doctors offices can be so discounted. I guess this is all just to say how many of us are needed and how much persistence is required, because the views of endometriosis (and women…And all of medicine and surgery) are dug in deep. And there is a lot of shame ready to be heaped on those who dare question it.

  45. Liz

I also wonder about the barrier mesh used commonly to “prevent adhesions” in endo surgery. (Such ad Interceed) I think for some people it does not dissolve as it is supposed to. A few surgeons refuse to use it and say that it CAUSES adhesions, or that it is like superglue. And yet it is so hard to find information on it.

I would to learn new way to carry on instead of all these drugs and operations

    Hi Melissa
I would love to be part of the community! I’ve had almost every symptom of endometriosis, bleeding cysts, surgeries for adhesions and hemorrhaging masses, and continual spotting, but I haven’t had a diagnosis for endo yet. After being told by doctors just to take birth control pills and pain medication and not getting anywhere, I’m ready to try a more natural, effective approach to healing.

  49. Karen Blankenship

I’m in! I would love to see a documentary made about endo and natural healing. I think it would help so many women.

  51. Michelle Petersen

Thank you for all that you do. I would love to be a part of the community.

  52. Anthea Carpenter-Procter

Thank you for this Mel and for all you do. I am 100% behind you with this. I have suffered with Endo for over 10 years now, have had 1 surgery and tried some of the awful synthetic hormones back when first diagnosed. I feel that the conventional methods to treat Endo serve a very limited purpose and don’t get to the root cause of the condition. I have found that more natural methods have benefitted me and would love to see more research done into how more organic methods can benefit us all and make our suffering less. I would very much like to be a part of this new community. X
