Just take it all out! I need relief! What you need to know about having a Hysterectomy!

It is sad but some girls feel like they have no choices left. They go through days and days of constant pain with no relief. They are simply hoping for a day with less pain and yet those days seem so rare and hard to find. Every day is spent trying to overcome pain. Drugs offer only mild relief and even then they feel exhausted from it all.

They eventually give up trying the methods their doctors have prescribed to them and consider what they feel is their only option for relief – a Hysterectomy. They think that by cutting it all out, the pain will finally be gone and that their only sacrifice in not being able to have children and that would be the only down-side.

It is a hard emotional choice for many women as we often define ourselves by our ability to have children, of being a “real woman”. Many women feel that it is perhaps something they have to live with, perhaps they were never meant to have children, perhaps God or some higher power gave them this nasty Endometriosis because they weren’t supposed to have them. So, they think they will make the sacrifice and then they will finally be able to live their life, even if that means not being able to have children.

Unfortunately, neither of these is really true.

I have recently met a lady who is 73. She went through severe period pain for over 10years and eventually a Hysterectomy at 40 when she discovered it was Endometriosis. She still suffers with pain each and every day at 73years of age! The thing she found the hardest was the symptoms she actually got through having the Hysterectomy. It threw her whole body into Menopause and she dealt with severe side-effects and hormonal imbalances due to these.

Many of you know of the website www.endo-resolved.com. Carolyn is a great supporter of this site and I of hers. She is an amazing woman who provides me with so much motivation to keep giving you all hope and encouragement to search for answers. She has shared a story about her journey with Endometriosis and having a Hysterectomy which I would like you to read, if you have ever considered this as your only option. It also gives us all hope that we can cure ourselves and that we shouldn’t doubt ourselves in our search to find real answers to healing!

You can read Carolyn’s story here

The thing we all need to recognise is that the body is stronger than we think. It is smarter than we think. It is merely reacting to a situation in the best way it feels it can. We just need to give it a new direction and retrain it to heal. Through this blog and many other websites out there, you can find these answers and ways of healing that work for you. Keep searching and reading and taking in as much as you can. Keep trying and don’t give up. You too can be one of the success stories!

You can heal. Just keep searching and trying and never, never give up hope 🙂
