Two Amazing Herbs, which you use to help with healing your Endometriosis

Being engaged to James (I am loving those words!), has really opened my eyes to the joys of flavours in foods and cooking. James loves using interesting spices and herbs and though I have always enjoyed them, I had no idea of their true benefits, until I started researching them a little further.

So, I picked two of my favourites!

Parsley

This has to be one of my favourites – I had already mentioned it a few times.

It has some awesome healing properties for the liver and our kidneys, which are both important for detoxing all those nasties from the body. Here’s a full list:

  •  Works on the gallbladder and will actually remove gallstones! This is hugely important in aiding the liver to work through toxins! To get this to work, you simply drink one cup of tea with parsley, every single day.
  • Contains high amounts of Vitamin A – good for the eyes and wrinkles!; Vitamin C – more than in oranges; Contain Vitamin K (536g in an average serving) and beta-carotene, which is good for fighting free radicals in the body.
  • Also contains iron (great if you are loosing heaps of blood), also helps if you feel tired alot; B- Complex vitamins – good for de-stressing and magnesium and potassium.
  • Great to juice it with other green vegetables or fruits like carrot or Granny Smith Apples.
  • Will expel watery poisons, excess mucus, flatulence and reduce swollen glands.
  • Great to get fresh breath – just check on some Parsley (might look like a cow but at least you will have fresh breath!)
  • Great if you suffer from IC or have a bladder infection – just drink heaps of parsley tea.

*Don’t drink too much if you are pregnant

Dill

This is a beautiful tasting herb and has a slightly tangy taste – great with salads and cucumber! You can use the seeds and the leaves.

  • Helps digestion by activating the bile of the liver and digestive juices in the gut. Cut up some cucumber (finely sliced) and add a sprinkling of cucumber seeds or leaves. Eat this 15minutes before a meal and you will find the meal so much easier to digest!
  • Eases insomnia – wow! This is unique! The enzymes in Dill secrete hormones which are calming and hypnotic in effect.
  • Diarrhea – Remember this one! Dill actually helps kill the bugs that cause diarrhea by inhibiting microbial infections. It also helps if you have poor digestion by stimulating the juices to break down food easier.
  • Helps with Menstrual Disorders – Dill is a stimulant and Emanagogue in nature…this means they stimulate secretion of certain hormones which in turn help maintain proper menstrual cycles.
  • Allergies – Is a anti histamine and will help clear nasal passages and congestion.
  • Good for the gums and teeth – anti oxidant and disinfectant abilities.
  • A cancer fighter! – the Monoterpenes will stimulate the enzyme glutathione-S-tranferase which neutralise carcinogens in the body!
  • It is a great diuretic – this means it is great for the Kidneys, bladder and will help with IC.
  • It is anti spasmodic, which means it prevents cramps. Just what you wanted to hear right?
  • Encourages endocrinal secretions – getting stuff out!
  • Enhances libido – Yippee!

There are heaps of herbs to explore further! These were just the two that seemed to really give endo women the most benefits! Which herbs have you got growing in your garden? On the windowsill? Explore them, taste them and enjoy!

Pregnant women should not even be drinking parsley tea. It makes you bleed. I drink parsley tea if my period is late.

    Hi Jessica,

It is probably best to take the Turmeric in a tincture form, to avoid the orange poo syndrome! It is also more easily absorbed and used by the body that way 🙂
As for dill, I would say that using about a handful in a juice or tea form is the best. Sure, you can also sprinkle it on food for the flavour but I don’t know how much it is going to do.
The Digestive Grape Bitters look really good. Certainly help your liver detox a little 🙂

Not sure how much of my food I’m going to be sprinkling dill on… and how much it takes to make a difference. Couldn’t find statistics anywhere, even in reports of testing on mice – they commented on the grand results but I couldn’t find dosage. I wonder if just a shake of dill on some fish/salad/cucs would do enough?

What do you think about this?

Also, I have been taking Turmeric and it does seem to help, but it also makes my daughter (who is nursing) have very yellow stool! I wonder if it is too high of concentration? I have taken to only using it once every 4 days to lessen the effect on her. Ideas?

Thanks Leah and great to have a fellow blogger commenting! Let me know how you go and I hope you find heaps more info to help you feel better! It all starts with the liver …..is my main statement with it all 🙂
It is my pleasure and I shall do 🙂
    Hugs back,
    Melissa

I wish you well on your journey to End Endometriosis, Melissa!! Bless you and I will continue to read and who knows maybe your story will help my story become a little better. I am going to try the parsley and dill, each sounds like it could help me out. Especially the dill. I suffer from Endometriosis as well as IBS-D (doesn’t stand for dill though…haha) which I developed after having my gall bladder removed. I have other illnesses too, but I really wanted to comment on your blog!
Thanks a bunch and keep on writing! <3 and hugs
